2 out of 5 stars Not much new   April 29, 2008
I was not very impressed on what I found in this book. I read very little new information regarding success and leadership. In fact, some of it I severely disagreed with. I do not view all people as either winners or losers, like The Donald does. There is far more gray than that. Mr. Trump has a lot to be proud of, but i see him as being far to prideful. With his bankruptcy in the 90s you would think he would be more humble now. The book came across as matter-of-fact like. Rather than him just saying what works for him he states his points of view like they're the only way to be successful. One chapter he talks about the need to hold grudges yet he didn't state why or even how it has helped him in his career. Also, I really didn't like that he stated it's foolish for "anyone" to not ask for a prenuptual agreement prior to getting married. I'm sure he has his reasons, but prenups aren't for everyone. I'm pretty sure that holding grudges is not the way to win friends, influence people, and to be successful. I think lot of what he is able to do now is only because of who he is now. He should right a book on how he became successful rather than all his little pet peeves he has now that he is rich and famous.

This book does share some good tips and insights that you need to be a leader, but if he were not who he was this book would be far more criticized. Other very successful people have written books on leadership and prosperity, stating views that contradict what Mr. Trump states. I think Mr. Trump has a lot to offer, but that he could be far more effective if he humbled himself and cared more for people who aren't as bright or who makes mistakes, writing them all off as losers. No one or two mistakes is enough to justify calling someone a loser.

3 out of 5 stars Not his best work, but enjoyable   March 27, 2008
Trump is one of my guilty pleasures. He's so full of himself that it seems contagious.
The Art of the Deal is his best piece, by far. The trouble is, the man is almost a living cartoon character with his larger-than-life means, attitude, and hairdo. Because of his comic book-like nature, I find myself curious about the further exploits of the man I met in Art of the Deal.

I'd give it more stars, but this particular episode of Trump isn't quite worth a full 4. I would recommend his other one, The Art of the Comeback. Killer book with his killer attitude after near bankruptcy. Hope this helps...hehehe...

2 out of 5 stars Trump's memoirs - not a guide to get rich   January 31, 2008
I was deceived by the title of this book. The first four parts are somewhat interesting. The later half was more about Trump, his family, his weekly routine etc., (Hmmm... Who wants to know all these?!)

If you are looking for some good tips to get rich, don't waste your time in reading this book.

4 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS ALL ABOUT HOW TO GET RICH   January 15, 2008
Get the message readers! Those who became wealthy from smart things they did became wealthy because THEY DID WHAT THEY DID!

All you have to do is read, study, and copy what they did, and you too will become wealthy!

It amazes me how people just don't get it. You just want to get your paycheck and stay in your little box.

PLEASE do yourself a favor and get "set free" from your "fear factor" and go out and buy, read, and follow Donald Trump and what he did to become wealthy. If you hang around the right people, or read enough of books written by successful people, then IT WILL rub off on you.

Donald Trump
Russ Whitney, (Building Wealth)
Robert T. Kiyosaki (Rich Dad Poor Dad)

And PLEASE don't let negative people stop you from success.

3 out of 5 stars Informative???   August 6, 2007
As a former employee of the Trump International Hotel and Tower, I feel the book lacks the real value of a lesson. I believe Mr. Trump has an incredible ability to market himself to the public. However after being employed by the Trump Organization, I can honestly say the company does not portray the mannerism of leadership set forth in this book. The book is a motivational tool set for individuals chasing a non-reality dream, which allows Mr. Trump to once again market himself as a money making guru. However all the objectives in the book are intended for people who have already established financial security, it is not a lesson on "How to Get Rich"!
